In early January 2024, homeowner Amanda Brochu woke to find her newly installed driveway had been stolen by scammers posing as contractors—who spirited away the concrete just before Christmas, leaving her with mud and a gaping hole.

A heartwarming act of community solidarity emerged from a bizarre theft: a veteran contractor stepping up to help a stranger, while the victim paid the kindness forward to those in need.  

Veteran-owned MM Concrete Specialty stepped in to help a woman whose driveway was stolen by scammers, replacing it for free. Owner Mikol Rowland donated the job, and the homeowner paid it forward by giving her $10,000 GoFundMe donations to a local charity.
